The “2026 Shin Shin & Xiangrong Local-Context Curriculum Training”—jointly organized by the Shin Shin Educational Foundation, the Beijing Xiangrong Public Welfare Foundation, and the Institute of Rural Education Development at Northeast Normal University—concluded successfully in Jilin City, Jilin Province, from June 10 to 13, 2026.
More than 40 principals and teachers from 14 project schools across seven provinces—including Heilongjiang, Jilin, Gansu, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, and Shandong—gathered for the event. Centered on the theme of “Local Culture + PBL (Project-Based Learning),” participants engaged in immersive learning through real-classroom settings and on-site workshops. Together, they explored pathways for localizing rural education and innovating curricula, aiming to empower rural teachers to effectively utilize local resources in course design and to foster students’ growth in both core competencies and their emotional connection to their local communities.
Amidst the chorus of cicadas in high summer and the gentle caress of the sea breeze, the 2025 Shin Shin & New Horizon Summer Teacher Training Program concluded successfully on the afternoon of July 27 at the Qingdao Open University auditorium. Over 180 principals and teachers from 16 provinces across China completed the ten-day, multifaceted training curriculum; they bid a reluctant farewell, enriched by professional growth and deeply moved by their shared educational ideals.
