[Author: Jinsu Son; Editor: Ying Xu] From May 16, 2016 to May 19 and May 23 to May 27, 2016, on behalf of Shin Shin Educational Foundation, Vice Chairman Steve Ting and his wife Baoying, Board member Jinsu Son and his wife Huiwen, Chief Representative in Beijing Office Yang Ma, Cheng-bo Sun visited 7 Shin Shin schools in Shanxi and Shandong. At the same time, they investigated and evaluated several schools outside the Shin Shin school system.
The main purpose of this trip is to meet city’s and provincial officials from the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and the Department of Education, thanking them for their work and support for SSEF over the years, understand the impact of donation, the practical needs of schools and the status of rural education and economic development, furthermore show our love and care to the children. In Baoying’s words, SSEF came to the schools and met the children in person, observed how children have grown, and learned the current situation. In fact, the reason for the visit is simply to ” let the children know that they are not alone. In the distant land across the Pacific Ocean, a group of grandparents, brothers and sisters , aunts and uncles care for their learning and their life . “
